International Introductions

Legal Services
(For prearranged agreements confirmed by email)

International Introductions accepts only four forms of payment: electronic fund transfers (bank wires), checks, money transfers (least preferred), and Zelle (most preferred). Zelle is a person-to-person payment service offered by many banks that allows users to send secure electronic payments to anyone, regardless of where they bank. With Zelle (your bank may use a different label such as Payments, QuickPay, Person-to-Person Transfers, Send Money, or SurePay), you only need our email address, jjamiejjjjj@gmail.com to make a fast, simple and safe payment. If you bank with Bank of America, Capital One, Chase, Citibank N.A., Fifth Third Bank, First Bank, Frost, PNC, TD Bank, USAA, U.S. Bank, Wells Fargo, or any other bank on the Zelle network, you can normally use your bank’s online platform to send and receive money at no cost. Zelle is already available within the mobile banking apps of many banks and credit unions and will soon be available to almost anyone with a U.S. debit card through the Zelle app. You must email or call us to arrange any payment method other than Zelle.

The Reason Why We No Longer Accept Credit Card Payments
  1. For over 14 years, International Introductions accepted credit card payments. We were paying between 4.5% and 6.5% in processing fees, depending on the client’s card. On top of that, new United States banking regulations pushed banks to charge a 1% foreign exchange fee for every ATM or debit card transaction we make. ATM withdrawals in Colombia are much more restrictive than in the United States. Most Colombian banks limit you to withdrawing the equivalent of less than $500 per transaction and charge about $6 for each withdrawal. Because of these low limits, we are forced to make more ATM withdrawals, which means more fees for the Colombian banks. On top of that, U.S. banks also charge a fee for using an ATM in Colombia, so we are hit twice—local ATM fees plus foreign ATM fees—along with a higher frequency of transaction fees. All of these charges have made the cost of receiving payments by credit card too high. International Introductions has not raised its prices in over 10 years. To maintain our current pricing, we cannot continue absorbing extra charges from multiple middlemen who take a cut of our work.

  2. Credit card processors, without justification, classify us as a “high risk” business and therefore charge higher rates than they charge most other businesses—or, in many cases, refuse to work with us at all. For example, we met all of PayPal’s terms and conditions, yet a hidden part of their customer service system (whom we were not allowed to contact for an explanation) removed our account after many years, even though we never had a single client complaint or issue. We are often wrongly accused of being “adult oriented.” In reality, International Introductions has no more “adult content” than a website that sells cars. Cars are not for children and neither is marriage, but neither one is considered unsuitable for children to know about. “Adult content” means not suitable for children. There are no photos or written content on our website that are not suitable for children. We are in the business of forming families. The now-defunct “family friendly” evaluation website, which had no equivalent replacement, rated our website as family friendly: “All sources consider latin-wife.com trustworthy and family friendly. Website latin-wife.com has a credible reputation.” Our website had the same family-friendly rating as Disney, yet in this politically correct world we are still not supported by many banks. The few processors willing to offer us a more competitive rate require that we advertise their logo on every page of our website, which we refuse to do. International Introductions maintains a clean website, free of ads and third-party promotions.

  3. Labeling industries like lodging and matchmaking as “high risk” is simply a pretext to justify higher fees. The credit card processor always takes its cut and can recover chargebacks from the merchant. It is the business—not the card issuer or processor—that takes the loss when a stolen credit card is used. When fraud occurs, the merchant pays for the theft, not the cardholder or the processor. We have been victims of such fraud, which is another strong reason we will not continue to accept credit card payments.

  4. International Introductions is a well-established company with a long record of excellent service. Our page “Selecting a Marriage Agency” explains how you can research us and verify our credibility. We want you to investigate International Introductions and see what prior customers have experienced. Only a small percentage of our revenue comes from small, impulse purchases, which is why almost all of our clients call us first to discuss and understand the service before proceeding. We want you to call us so we can answer all your questions. We do not want you to move forward with any purchase unless you are 100% confident in who we are and what we can do for you. Fortunately, many U.S. banks now offer electronic transfer methods at no cost, making our current payment options fast, simple, and inexpensive for our clients.
