Roystonea regia
Colombia has one native species of the genus of Roystonea, but this is not it. An ornamental palm that is used in parks and as a street tree below 6,000 feet. Like many street tree in Colombia, this one is a dangerous choice. The palm leaves are large and heavy and fall. Roystonea regia plams are very susceptible to beetles which will kill them. Photographed in Quindio.
