

Pereskia bleo (Rose Cactus)
One of three native Colombian species of the genus Pereskia with a habitat below 3,300 feet. An interesting cactus with sharp needle-like thorns and attractive flowers. The leaf, yellow fruit and flower are all edible. The fruit is juicy, but sour. The plant has many medicinal claims. It can grow at least four meters high and is best grown in partial shade.
