Manilkara zapota

Colombia has three native species of genus Manilkara, but this is not one of them. Cultivated below 5,000 feet. Called níspero in Colombia and the fruit is eaten raw and is astringent if not eaten ripe. It is also made into a juice using milk. Occasionally it is sold in the supermarkets./p>
