Bactris guineensis ( Corozo)
Native to Colombia with a habitat below 1,000 feet. The fruit of this palm is called corozo in Colombia. The fruit is boiled in water which is drank with or without sugar as a juice, it's delicious and high in antioxidants. It is sometimes available in the supermarkets and popular in the north of Colombia. In Quindio I have never seen it for sale. The fruit is also used to make wine.
