Agave flowers with large brilliant white filaments and yellow anthers against a dark blue sky

Colombia has five native species of the genus Agave. The north coast of Colombia has a desert like climate for about five months of the year (December-April), so Cactus, Agave, and other drought tolerant plants do well. However, Agave can be found throughout Colombia. Photographed in Bogotá.
