Two yellow Opuntia ficus-indica fruits on a black plate one whole and the other cut in half exposing the orange pulp
Opuntia ficus-indica (Prickly Pear)

Colombia has ten native species of the genus Opuntia, but this is not one of them. The fruit (high in vitamin C) of this cactus is called higos in Colombia and is normally eaten raw after chilling and as a juice. You can normally find this fruit in supermarkets.
