Persea americana (Avocado)

Avocado (called aguacate in Colombia) is an export crop for Colombia. It grows year-round and is usually better purchased from street fruit vendors ready to eat versus the supermarket where the fruit is often hard. Photographed in the central Andes mountain range of Colombia (Cordillera Central), Valley of Cauca and Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
